Upon completion. It will be the 2nd tallest tower in the country after the 60 story Mubarak Center in Lahore and the 60 storey Icon Tower in Karachi.

That boulevard is just monumental! I guess in 15 to 20 years this will be enclosed from both sides with highrises and skyscrapers of good taste!

Well, lets hope so! They removed the height restrictions back in the mid-2000s. For the time being, this post gives a good overview of what can be expected by the end of 2010.

It seems to be heading that way! Already has 8 built mid rises (15-19 stories). Two topped out (ISE Towers - 19 stories). Two others on their way (24 story Telecom Tower & 20 Story State Life Tower). Plus the Centaurus Skyscraper U/C which will be in excess of 200 meters and will have 3 other highrises as a part of it. Two of which will be taller than 110 meters and the other taller than 120 meters.

The honour of the Current Tallest Building in Islamabad, goes to more than one building. That title is jointly shared by the Habib Bank Tower & the newly topped out ISE Towers. All of whom are 19 storeys tall.

Are you referring to population density or the density of buildings??? Both are being worked on. Islamabad is a NEW city. Was only built in the 1960's and started to get populated only in the 1980s and then its population started to explode in the 1990s & 2000s. Its population is now near the 1 million mark and is growing by 6% per year, the highest rate in Pakistan. Due to better quality of life offered in Islamabad, than many other parts of the country.

However, if you are referring to the density of the buildings, then as you can see from the projects listed in this thread and many other, smaller & less fancier projects not listed in this thread, that is being worked on too.
