Frankfurt behind Warsaw. Is there a bit of envy in that post!?

I still can't see what's so special about Warsaw skyline excluding the Soviet building.

the south american/favela criticism from the german corner still bothers him, or it's the influence of alcohol, his surreal top five can't be explained in any other way.

I did not say that Frankfurt HAS to be the best in any case. It is discussable whether you like Paris and / or London more or not. But putting Frankfurt down there is somewhat ridiculous. Really...

Oh yeah, how can someone from Peru envy another place? Especially if it is in Europe!

My ordering would be:

1. London
2. Paris
3. Frankfurt

Rotterdam's skyline is sort of awkward. I think it needs time to develop and grow. It doesn't look that cohesive at the moment (of course, only my opinion).

I have seen this picture in the "rate our skyline" thread. I think it really fits.

IMO La Defence is the best skyline and skyscraper cluster in Europe. I still wonder why most vote for Frankfurt.

Quite possibly because MOST think that Frankfurt is the best skyline and the best skyscraper cluster in Europe?

Everyone who already has been to La Defense or Canary Wharf has to agree those aren't a match for Frankfurt yet. Seriously.

Judging from the pictures Frankfurt has a couple of taller buildings, but the skyline is not grouped or dense. I am not talking about Canary Wharf, I'm talking about La Defence, which is in a denser urban environment, with more futuristic looking buildings and a more monumental design.

density or the sheer size is just a question of the angle, this goes also for la defense, and that's also the reason why you get always the front side or sectioned pictures of the la defense district.

it's simply much smaller as it seems

i'd also suggest to watch webcam livestreams/pictures, to get unprettified impressions, also to avoid funny mislieading photoshopped pictures like in the #2371 post.

btw. this is not a bash attempt, rather a little "get some facts straight" - sidenote (without valuation).

so i have to agree with pea in this case.

La Défense, from all angles (except "front side") :

yeppers this is what i meant...
no telephoto lens here and voila, here is your real "density".

still no clue what a telephoto lens and the right angle does?
ok here we go (a frankfurt pic just to stamp out any bias here).

a tele lens is a wonderful thing, but to fool knowingly people ...not.

Indeed. Having been to all of them I have to say nothing but agree on this. It's a true and I would say the ONLY real European skyscrapercity where skyscrapers are at the very heart of the city and actually dominate the skyline and the streetscape.
