There are alway people opposing everything. But it would take lots of pressure from less denser areas and densen the regions that are crowded already. I don't know why people always oppose such development. Megacities (if they have a good infrastructure and planning, not like the 3rd World urban monsters) are a very good concept.

I agree. But Dutch people can only complain Especially when they live in small villages in the Randstad between the big cities. They don't want to pay more tax or want a highway or railway next to their house.

It is nothing better here in Germany! They block the extensions of the highways and airports. They once bought cheap land knowing that one day there will be a new highway. And when the time comes, they want to block it.

I know. A bad thing: you have the highway A4 here. And there's a piece missing to Rotterdam, the lenght: 7km. They have been talking about building that piece for 50 years now. And finally, this year they made the desicion so built it All that time the people who live there stopped it.

Someone could mark which ones are residential and which are commercial. I think you can not really figure that out in Rotterdam.

I like Warsaw also. But it is not about sympathy, it is about facts. And it is a fact, that Warsaw even being on the rise and having a nice silhouette already, it is not better than London or Frankfurt!

Ive never been either on Warsaw or in Frankfurt. And if its about sympathy I think I got more connection with Germany. My opinion is only based in the pictures in this thread. I think their are some great buildings in Warsaw and the skyline is good shaped. Maybe my opioion is somewhat biased because I tend to rank according to the countrys development and history. I really didnt expect such great skyline from Poland but I surely expect a skyline like Franfurt from Germany. So the surprise factor can make my opinion not that objective... but again, really few opinions here are objective.

Cheers.

Ah okay. Warsaw has really caught up a lot since the fall of the iron curtain! This is true!

I know why Frankfurt was on first place, because Paris had old buildings and nothing new. but today ist Paris growing agin with new Skyscrapers witch make him popular.

Sure From the left to the right

- grey/black one in the back = residential
- orange one in front of the black ones = residential
- 2 towers in the back between the orange one & the 2 in front = commercial
- with the "M" on top (can't realy see it from here) = residential
- the tower next to it (with the curves) = commercial
- u/c tower = residential
- tower next to it = commercial
- the one with the spire (tallest in netherlands) = commercial

La Defense may be the densest cluster, but Frankfurt's is very innovative and has some very interesting buildings. I think the height of Frankfurt is more varied than La Defense, because the more varied the height of the buildings, the more interesting the skyline, thats why some say that CHicago's skyline is better than New York's

my reaction was generally a reaction to your top five, i've never stated that frankfurt has to be number one in your ranking nor something like that.

it was generally about your nonsense and inexplicable ranking system, and not an issue with your opinion. got it?
