sure, last summer, loved this older, massive waterfront architecture, barely any interesting scrapers thou. Similar to Birmingham.
If it irritates You, feel free to ignore me
Just want ppl to at least try to be objective.

I have to agree with butch83. How can you prefer Liverpool or Birmingham above other cities.
There isn't a real skyline, just a few towers. Even The Hague or Amsterdam have a better skyline than those cities.

the liverpool skyline looks good in my opinion, much better than the industrial rotterdam-port style.

other than that, there are not so much typical highrise cities in the eu, most of them are stuffed with medium sized midrise clusters or well ... not even clusters.

the "only" skyline-city with a typical highrise "core" is only frankfurt atm.

followed by paris with a remarkable cluster in the la defense biz district (but still just a cluster) , i also think that warsaw is a good candidate to get a highrise core in the near future.

but i prefer at first hand munich or venice ... so no highrises, no retort-esque clusters.
both are for example exclusively looking cities with a unique flair and breathtaking, distinctive and characteristical architecture with a few modern highrises separated from the characteristical urban core.
