it's not about opinions or a point of view, nor a rhetorical question paradesprices, it's a fact, la defense is a decentralized district, and just to be precise, a (of course nice) cluster in a district, but then once again; the presence of the la defense cluster is marginal compared to the whole skyline of paris, this goes of course also for london, the highrise amount of london is really small compared to the rest, but london is still one of the best top cities in europe, but that's not the point at issue nor topic

so the moral of the story is; you can't have everything in life, and that's the way it is.

my criteria is and was of proportional nature (no matter if central or decentral clusters/districts or etcetera) , and not a criteria of population, logically people are not a part of the skyline or ?

Actually CW and LD are pratically at the same distance from their respective city centers...

Actually I think you'll find that London is fairly similar to Frankfurt in terms of buildings over 150m with 11 (including the Heron Tower, but not including the BT Tower, otherwise it is 12) and Frankfurt has 11 (including Opernturm). And in terms of buildings over 100m, London has 38 (not including the BT Tower, otherwise it is 39) compared to Frankfurt's 25.

If I mentioned populations(=size), it was simply because, imho, the more the city is large (population & size), the more "the cluster(s) of towers is(are) marginal compared to the whole skyline"...... (except in some ugly Chinese cities + the horrible San Paolo)

Some examples (10million +):

LA

Chicago

NY

Tokyo

and now switch from areal view to landscape mode and compare "skylines" and not areal shots from above.
paradesprinces, this areal trick works maybe with other people.

all local patriotism aside, do yourself a favour and skip it!
beleive me, that's the best option in your situation, just compare the skyline pictures of your mentioned cities with paris and keep it coming ... slowly

Didn't I already say that Paris' Skyline seems/is "flat" ???

And also because of its size..... (that is, and was my point in my previous posts, using some of your arguments) !!!!!!

If you don't understand my French humour (in almost all of my posts about "France and/or Paris as the best place in the whole universe... and further") ...
OK : Believe me, especially nowadays, I'm far from any patriotism (it's a secret, don't tell it !! We still have a reputation of arrogance )

Anyway, did I ever mention that Paris has the "best" skyline in the EU ????

NO !
Most of time, I post pictures, without any comment !
