I'm not talking about the buildings. What I read usually about London is, that the skyline is neither a solitary-skyline, nor a real cluster skyline. That's the problem. I mean we all know how Tony Noakes criticised Canary Wharf. Even Robin Clement wasn't a big fan of Cesar Pellis work!

On the other hand the heritage of the Smithsons is in a bad shape
But these buildings weren't refurbished. Take care of your heritage!

Who´d want to live in such concrete monstrosities!? Brutalism is crap and needs to be demolished.

I´m far more concerned about the fact that some really beautiful classical buildings have bitten the dust over these past few years.

The last picture of Rotterdam (xlchris) demonstrates that its skyline is ugly and too disperse.

I think it proves it is a bad angle, london has preserved many brutalist buildings... too many IMO

Europeans really need to come to terms with teh fact that most of their cities (except the ones I mentioned) just don't have a skyline, or anything close to it.

(I'm not including Moscow in Europe)

And what's that steel structure inside La Grande Arche? Is it being repaired?
What a simplistic and childish opinion. I've visited cities all over the world and the skyline of every one has wowed me in a different way. For me the 'skyline' is the city seen against the sky - turrets, spires, towers, offices, rooftops, domes, colours, juxtapositions, texture, quality, scale, drama, setting, emotion, history, expectation.... I've seen skylines that take your breath away all over the world. Europe's are as beautiful and powerful and striking as anywhere. But they have certain qualities you wont find anywhere else and those make for very, very powerful skylines of great beauty - and that includes cities without a single office tower.

Not to put more photos of the skyline of Rotterdam, will be the best in the world. You are full of pictures of Rotterdam the thread, thinking that it will become bigger the skyline, but the truth is that it's a decent skyline, with ugly buildings (the majority) and not too high, besides being widely dispersed. Oh and I know that obsession you have with Madrid. I'm not from Madrid, and I care little about the competition that are you two hands the Netherlands with the rest. But the reality is that even the skyline of Barcelona is better than Rotterdam:

There are plenty pictures in this Thread, which shows that R'dam has a better skyline. I must admin Barcelona has a decent skyline to from the last angle.

By the way, I'm not obsessed with Madrid, because as I already mentioned. I like Madrid. It has good Nightlife, it's vibrant, but I don't like it's Skyline.
I find the skyline of Barcelona and even Benidorm better than Madrid. I've been in all of these cities. So I know what I'm saying.

I know you’re not from Madrid, but from Valencia. Which it’s not a bad city either, besides all the junkies who are walking around the beach area and besides some parts in the City, which really look like Ramallah or Gaza City.

I think this is not the Thread to discus this!
I enjoyed Madrid's nightlife and found it slightly better than Barcelona.
Above all I like the people in/from Madrid more than in/from Barcelona. Somehow it won’t match between me and people from Barcelona. I based this on several occasions here in Holland and over there in Spain.
