I don't think madrid is better than that ;]

and ?

Madrid has 14 buildings above 100m ( http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?searchID=43259262)

and , Madrid has 4 REAL skycrapers , not highrise !
So i don't know if Madrid has a better skyline than Warsaw but the CTBA of Madrid is for me more impressive that your 7 highrise ...

This is becoming a childish "my schlong's longer than yours" discussion! "Oh yeah, but my city has...", "ahem, okay, but my city has,...."
Fact, both cities have a good skyline. Considering the size of the cities and economic importance, Warsaw is ahead. Since Madrid as economic hub and with a metro area of nearly 6 million could have a much bigger and taller skyline. Warsaw is a newcomer and has not yet developed all of it's economic stength and potential.
But overall it is no good comparison anyway. Compare Madrid to, let's say Milan (economically and by size) that would be a more proper comparison!

maybe madrid has 4 200m+ towers, but that doesn't make the whole skyline great. they stand too alone and in a straight line

Chauvinism, subjectivity? Only because some people have other preferences? I think you have some problems. Besides there is no place for subjectivity in a international thread, everyone (not only Poles, in fact Poles make only 0,57% of the worlds population ) can register here on the forum and vote in this thread - so if you (or anybody else) don't agree with the poll results, simply vote.

Madrid has 5 not 4 , but Warsaw has a great skyline for its size.

So only a Spanish can prefer Madrid to Frankfurt, Paris and London, or only a Dutch can prefer Rotterdam to Frankfurt, Paris and London? Or maybe we should limit the poll to 3 options... or even better: make it without a poll because Frankfurt is clearly the best!

@Fabrega : What is the fifth one ?? The Telecom tower

For the european number of tower contest :

Paris:

1 Supertall (Eiffel tower )
1 Skysrcaper (Tour Montparnasse)
73 high-rise buildings (100m+)

No it was just meant to the comment that Scandinavia and Benelux had better systems for being smaller than France. I just wanted to show that it has nothing to do with the size of country, rather than it's organisation!

and I would not like them, if they had neighbours.
so in this voting-list I place Madrid in last place. But when Paris will finish all their supertall-projects, there will be a really hard comeptionen for the worst EU-Skyline between this two cities.

1.Frankfurt
2. No one schould be placed here
3. Warshaw and Rotterdam (rotterdam will get second place in 3 or 4 Years)
5. Liverpool

I know, but the size is an important parameter, it's easier to have a welfare state when the country has 5 millions inhabitants...

Anyway my first post about that, wasn't about which system is the best, but was about the consequences of the financial crisis which are less important in France because of our social system (it's one of the reasons) another is the struture of the french economy. I meant that the crisis won't prevent the development of La défense district.
For example, a country like Spain is very severely hit by this crisis much much more than France or Germany....

That is true. Since Spain's (for example!) entire structure is less mature and and not that strong and organized. The common people notice it much more than in France or Germany.

The rest of them look quite cheap, shabby and chaotic. I wonder if there are any good architects around there...
Asian skylines however are the ones I most like! Along with the two N. American classics NYC, Chicago, Toronto, Vancouver, San Fran and (my personal opinion) Houston.
You should see more pictures before you make such comment.
Other examples of good architecture skylines in South America:
- Berrini, Sao Paulo
-Paulista Avenue, Sao Paulo
-City Centre, Rio de Janeiro
-San Isidro, Lima
-City Centre, Bogota

Maybe youve only seen skylines of residential buildings. Remeber that the South American city model is one of huge areas of apartment bocks, dont confuse those with the main CBD skyline of each city.

I dont think Varsaw is overrated at all. About Madrid, the 4 towers may be nice but in the skyline they look like 4 factory towers. They should make more buildings around there or a higher one in the middle, it looks really strange.

There have always been a lot of Polish visitors on the Polish forum... I think they've all been voting on Warsaw, whereas there are less on the German forum. So the real winner is Frankfurt.
