They just need to fill it up with some decent glassy buildings. HK is for 99% ugly and concrete as well.

You should visit the thread Best South American skylines. Dont think South America is full of petit-Sao Paulos, there is Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogota, Caracas, Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo, Rosario, Viña del Mar, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Salvador... all of them with really nice skylines and some good architectonic icons like Kavanagh in Buenos Aires or Hans Hollein Interbank in Lima. And well yeah, Santiago is really nice too.

And by the way, Benidorm looks more European than you think. Remember that Europe is queen for Commieblocks from Paris to Moscow.

PS: Rotterdam looks impressive. Those pictures from the rural sorroundings are quite nice. Congratulations.

maybe in your dreams

the favela-60's-concrete-jungle style architecture is absolutely not europe/eu typical.

My nightmare was even worse. I dreamed that I spend my holiday there paying much money for an exclusive view on a concrete-wall.

I think Commieblocks are European cities weakness, as favelas are to South Americans and endless suburbs to North Americans.
Dont think urbanism and architecture in Europe is on top, of course is among the best in the World, but with all that money you could be doing much better. There are some really ugly projects, specially those for Paris. About Benidorm it looks as Spanish as it can be South American, most "modern" faces of the Spanish coastal cities look like mini versions of Benidorm. And I dont think Benidrom is ugly, at all. I think is quite unique. Of course it doesnt look relaxing or private at all, but it does have a sex appeal.

By the way European cities are extremely beautiful thats why ugly constructions are more painful to watch in an Italian or German city than in some other city around the World and thats why you should insist for perfection in your new buildings, and European cities are lacking that. Their is no way new modern architecture in Europe can match the old centres. Their are very few skyscrapers that are giving the size. I think Frankfurt, Rotterdam and London are the best examples right now.

That's YOUR opinion not the opinon of everybody
And some project like Tour phare and hermitage tower will cost more than one billion euro ... Really cheap ...

Ok my 2 cents/Rappen (centimes, centesimi)

1. Frankfurt a. M. - massiv buildings, best looking and most visible skyline.
2. Rotterdam - modern, good looking buildings, nice skyline - dutch taste!
3. Paris - massiv cluster, not so tall, somehow apart from the city.

I find Rotterdam the most interesting city. It has a lot of potential and I like their simple, cubic buildings. I am looking forward to seeing more of that city in the future! But for Skylines Frankfurt wins this hands down!

I actually read through the whole thread and noticed an obvious inferiority complex of some of the southern "comrades".

Spain must be one of the worst countries I've ever visited (next to italy). I actually knew somebody who had to collect rainwater and drink it out of buckets. She was a teacher and it was earlier this year. I couldn't believe these countries are actually in europe tbh. Furthermore, most people I've met were pretty ignorant (I blame their system of education) , as the guys on this thread proudly demonstrate but 'nuff said!

from Switzerland!

(oh and check our page! it's moving, it's moving )
