I don't care, just like the people who say that 200 votes on Warsaw = Poles. So according to the same logic I have a right to think that 377 votes on Frankfurt = Germans. Simple as that.

Would be great if you'll give us some criteria that you based on doing your calculates. Something more exact. For example how did you count density?

Two nice ones of Brussels by Bruno Dumon on Flickr:

I wish they'd break their stupid 150m fear, then this could become a very attractive little cluster...

i'ts not a matter of principles or such, it's more a matter of objectivity and rationality.

we've got at least 3 "good" or "representative" skylines in the poll , and these are frankfurt, paris and london.

the rational and logical way is to vote for one of these three candidates, because they're obviously tighter, or higher or nicer (just to be honest).
the irrational way is to vote for something else because of local patriotistic motives... oh well, let's call it eurovision song contest mentality.

so the whole calculation is based on good old stochastic theory, mingled with a portion intuition

banana... dancing

So? Other thing is objectivity and other is lack of such, which is the case here (bashing isn't a form of objectivity).

The Poll itself is objective... after suming up Birmingham and Liverpool (which shouldn't even be in the poll in the first place) with London you get 211 votes.

So the ranking would be like this:
1. Frankfurt
2. Paris
3. London
4. Warsaw
5. Rotterdam
6. Madrid

IMO it's a appropriate order.

You're just as patriotic as our Polish friends here. London has two minor clusters, of which only one is a little bit interesting. The pics look more impressive because London is just an impressive city, but skyline-wise (ie a collection of skyscrapers to form a pretty silhouet) it can't compete with Frankfurt or Paris. I'd say even Rotterdam beats London too.

So let them boys vote for Warsaw if they like. And let them win the Eurovision, who cares? The pics speak for themselves, forget about the poll...

To me the previous page seemed like a fest for one-side criticism of Warsaw's skyline tbh.

it was absolutely criticism,no doubt, but far away from internet typical bashing excesses.

It could be offensive to some. I personally feel insulted when someone is bringing up nationality arguments to such topics.

Sure not, but you can bet on a fairly high rate of Poles who voted for Warszawa.
They don't make up the biggest SSC community for nothing

Anyway, nothing wrong with voting for Warsaw. I like the skyline, tastes differ.
But I think the size of national communities here matter a lot in such polls.

I can also bet that this is a international forum (consisting not only of Poles, and not only europeans or citizens of the EU) and that other nationalities probably (on higher or lesser scale) do similar. I think it's a bad thing to generalise, otherwise if we want to generalise then at least let's use the same criteria for other cities not only to Warsaw (if someone wants to bring "origin of voters" criteria into the topic, ok, but let's at least be objective about it).

If it was for the plans, Frankfurt would look like Manhattan now...

(Well, it certainly looks like Mainhattan )

Very nice those future plans, but when is it going to be reality? In Rotterdam they still keep builing and building and lots of 200+ towers are planned in the next 5 years or so.

Rotterdam

I am for Frankfurt

I have to say that for me as a boy living in munich where we dont have real skyscrapers, maybe 3 - 5 mentionable highrises, Frankfurt is such a modern and nice city! But why i think like that? Actually because of its skyscrapers. I do not say that Skyscraper or even a nice skyline makes a city great, i just say in my opinion they are important in a way...
Anyway my last trip to Frankfurt was so great especially when i stood at the top of the Zeilgalerie Midrise (a famous mall) and starred at the Skyline, i really felt good i dont know why but it was breath taking
Haha i talk to much i just wanted to say that frankfurt is a very nice city with a nice big boulevard where you see happy ppl buying things eating ice on the streets and so on
Here one of my fav. pics

PS: the second pic is a lil bit old because theres no main tower (the big one near commerzbank with an antenna) xD and if you compare it with the other pic then you can see how the skyline actually changed because its almost the same perspective! impressive...
