Well if the skyline of Madrid is dispersed, the Rotterdam is not left behind

I think people should not complain about the pictures. Why would you? Just ignore them if you don't like them.

Does xlchris says it's the best skyline of Europe? NO! He is only posting pictures of his favourite high rise city in the Netherlands.
Who are you to say something about that?
If you or anybody else don't like them, than it's your problem.
All you guys who are complaining about that are getting a bit annoying.

just to put it in a nutshell: there is an urban showcase subforum to show butt ugly dancing chicks (that cuts no ice btw) on a rotterdam parade truck and such.

other than that, it's far easier to bypass pure rotterdam topics rather than a mixed topic like this one here.

try it the happy medium way; "less ugly dutch girls, less people (especially no kaaskopjes) , less pics about specific building parts and more focus on the skyline" and i guess that's the point and purpose of this thread or ?

Normally we put the name of the city we're posting pictures of.
I recognise the Beetham Tower there, so I'll say it's Birmingham.

Frankfurt for me..

Despite great planing, and nice towers, I find Paris-La Defense "skyline" a bit dull.

But I must admit, this is the best angle of the skyline I have ever seen and it is pretty cool.

Do you mean Moscow? As far as I know, Russia is not a country of the European Union.

The major issue about La Défense skyline is that 95% of shops and pedestrian walkers are buried underground in the transportation hub, the 4 Temps mall or the CNIT mall. There's not enough shops, cafés and restaurants at open air.

There are tons of modern malls which are partly at open air. So the problem isn't the concept of mall in itself, but the idea a mall is necessarily a closed and well-defined area that you would only visit "to buy".

Outside this issue, I wouldn't say there's anything "dull" in La Défense. Many skyscrapers, espacially among the tallests, are of great quality. And even the pedestrian alleys can give a nice feel. If there were shops all over the place, at open air, La Défense would really be great.

Im sorry but i cant agree there, there are major changes needed to be done to La defense to give it a great street life, not least the very poor quality concrete of the main square outside the grand arch (just a massive depressing concrete expanse). The place had quite a run down feel to me with many dirty buildings such as the one to the left of my picture (white roof), i went to the top of the grand arch and the concrete steps were broken and chipped with a layer of dirt over everything. I cant help but feel you dont and wouldnt find this in Fankfurt and Canary wharf. Despite this i think the grand arch is an amazing piece of architecture and the views of La defense where it is prominant propell it into one of the best skylines in the world! Maybe a park (maybe a larger scale one to the one in canary wharf) would help break up the poor streetscape of the suare in my pic
