I fail to see how anyone posting london pics has faked a skyline. It may not be the best in europe but to say there is no skyline at all is frankly stupid.

There's a skyline in ANY European city. A skyline is made up of all structures in a city, if there would be no skyline, there wouldn't be a city (which is a collection of different structures). It's as easy as that.

The only thing that is debatable (and which is discussed here) is the quality of those skylines.
So don't even try to discuss if a city has a skyline or not, that's leading nowhere.

Btw, I prefer historical skylines. In this sense Dresden, Prague and Lübeck are the European champs for me.

In what sense? Paris doesn't reach the top class of cities like Prague or Dresden regarding its historical skyline. You don't actually want to debate this, now do you?

There might be some impressive historical structures in Paris, but they don't form a decent skyline.

lol. You've got to be kidding. Apart from singular structures and a few alleys, most of the city was built up in the 18th/19th century. Haussmann and his fellows did a good job in clearing the city from everything really "historical".

A city can be some thousands of years old but still look like a new founded place of 1850. Same goes for pre-WW2 Cologne in some ways.

3,300 years isn't the age of Paris, but the age of the Obelisk.

As for the city in itself, Paris is more than 2,000 years old, which is still quite a honnest age.

However, you're wrong in stating that "most of the city was built up in the 18th/19th century". As a matter of fact, most of it has been built during the 20th century, which is quite fortunate to me as it means it's still alive.

That's not really true. Many districts such as Le Marais or Saint-Michel have been preserved from Haussmann's reconstruction. And there are hundreds of monuments and building in Paris which have been built before 1800. The oldest that I know of which is still standing up (more or less) are the old Roman Thermae in Cluny, dating back to the 2nd century.

And your point being? You just proved my words.

Sure, many Paris buildings were raised in the beginning of the 20th century as well, but the city cores' rebuilding was mainly finished during the Haussmann era and after that until ~1910.

It probably was the biggest old town destruction of all times. We shouldn't forget about that.
Thou I like the results way better than anything the modernists came up with afterwards.

Tall buildings are illegal in Athens, actually, there are laws that strictly forbid building skyscrapers anywhere in Greece.
