For me this is okay. Greece is charming the way it is!

No reason. Height limit is unchanged since, dunno, 19th century? It doesn't matter anyway, Greece is the center of the universe and we know better

Greece doesn't need highrises, just as most European countries. We don't have to compensate something with glass phalusses.

But Athens should consider to tear down some of the ugly post war architecture and reconstruct some great neoclassicist ensembles. Athens was the king of Neoclassicism.

Don't hit where it hurts....There are still good samples, and many restoration projects, but not as many as they should be....

I don't agree 100% with the glass phalusses parallelism, its true that Europe doesn't really have to prove anything, but you don't build skyscrapers only if you need office space, they are many more reasons to do so from social to political, transportation, efficiency, economical... Its a pity that an alpha world rated city of 4 million inhabitants is built exclusively horizontal

At least we don't need to take part in this provincialist height race which is made by so many cities calling themselves metropolises. This does not include North America however because I think it is an American pattern, while other cities around the globe seem to see it as some kind of urban or metropolitan thing. Ignoring that such a Dubai-like height race is strictly provinicial and ridiculous!
Europe's cities have no need to fill the whole cityscape with highrises and skyscrapers.

it's always a crunch question: "naboo or coruscant", "beautiful and historical" or "cool and modern" or "natural or artificial".

as for my part i prefer naboo

The Naboo model will always take the cake in the end.

That's weird because I thought "Omnibus viis Romam pervenitur" and not to Greece .

what are you talking about?

first of all, deutschland is not german. deutsch is german.
second, polen is not only a german word, but also dutch ...
third, don't tell people what they should write, if you can't write properly yourself - warsaw is a city, not a building.

and who started the myth, that warsaw is the biggest construction site in europe anyway? I can name atleast 3 cities that have a bigger construction volume than warsaw ...

Because people are looking for harmony. Beauty. Nature.

Some workaholic glass phalusses are nice here and there, but someday most people will be tired of all this hectic, unsettled, plain modernist stuff. We almost reached that point in some parts of the world (USA, Russia, parts of Asia, even Germany in some way).
