Quebec is really something with all of its historic architecture... but, I have to admit some streets and buildings look a bit shabby, I especially dislike the look of some of those wooden electricity poles and millions of wires in the air... however, I'm well aware that this is not only specificity of Quebec City, but is pretty much ubiquitous throughout Canada and North America.

Very nice... I love the quality of the light... very steel-grey and cold, which compliments much of the stone architecture.

It's nice to see neighbourhoods other than Vieux-Quebec. And I love the Pug!

This is my favourite:

That's interesting... I actually like that aesthetic. It's grit that many Canadian cities share... a quality that I find comfortable and familiar. It's hard to praise it without sounding offensive though.

Great pics - I too enjoy seeing more than just the tourist sights. I loved QC when I was there.

Brilliant photos Philippe! Question: I'm going to a weekend conference in QC and I want to watch the game Saturday night and then catch a band or good DJ later. Any suggestions? Preferably a non-touristic place. I'll be staying at Hôtel Classique by U Laval

The streets are reminicent of (I think) Ireland, UK and France. They could almost be any of those three countries. Cute city, I must visit one day!

I should post the photos of Quebec City that I took for its 399th anniversary last year. I was absolutely amazed about how the city can be casually classy without being pretentious. My impression of the city even got better compared to my trip there more than 10 years ago.

Lovely shots there, one could easily mistake some of the pictures for actually being taken in France. It looks like a beautiful place!

Quebec city is one of my favourite places in North America - these photos are nice in that they show a bit of the less polished, but still historic portions.

Anyone looking for a very interesting place to visit should definitely consider Quebec City - historic, unique, easy to explore on foot, with some ultra-charming sections, and generally awesome.

A great place overall.
