Lietuvas highway reconstruction project accepted by the government! Tender results will be known in the end of May, works should start this summer and end next year in autumn. Nothing however is planned for A8 Jelgava-Lithuania though, which is in very bad condition.

Yeah, I thought the same, but see, out of 33 transit street projects enough funding was for 6 higher priority only, that's why the government promised to find ways to allocate funds for other ready projects, and Lietuvas hwy is one of them.

Quick update on "Fortum" biofuel cogeneration plant construction site from today.

First summer update - 05.06.2012

1. Last update on milk factory located on Langervaldes street near A8 highway. Factory started experimental production in the beginning of June.

3. Renovation works started on cultural center "Rota", which is located near Garozas street.


4. Latvian Agriculture university faculty of veterinary medicine expansion under construction near Helmaņa street.

6. Hospital reconstructed part working now.

8. House renovation works on Kr. Barona street.


9. Raiņa street segment from Pasta to Katoļu street is opened. No idea what the island is for though.


10. For the first time in Jelgava, crossings on Raiņa street are equipped with time counters for pedestrians.

Not in this case. It is placed right in front of Rimi entrance and provides no left turn if coming from Katoļu street now, the only thing I can think of that there will be implemented such layout:
