Briefly - there are two companies who want to build new factories in Jelgava. "Evopipes" want to build a plastic tubes factory and SIA "Bronto" want to build a tire recycling plant.

Brīvības bulvāris

The street was opened a month ago, finally I took the opportunity to take some photos today.
Ok, here we go. The street starts with a roundabout.

New parking spaces. The street before reconstruction was 1x1, now after reconstruction it's 2x2 only in this section.

Crossing with Pumpura/Priežu street.

You can see that between the lanes are built new parking spaces, now they are clear, but when the ZOC will be finished, hardly you'll be able to find a free parking spot.

New bus stop built (still don't know which bus runs here ).

Crossing with Akmeņu street.

On the right you can see Jelgava's BMX track and it's the hardest one in Europe.

Crossing with Lāčplēša street and the city hospital in the background. The street goes 1x1 again.

The traffic-light is off.

More parking spaces.

Another new bus stop.

Crossing with Izstādes street and a road to hospital.

Crossing with Garozas street (P97).

And the street ends here with the crossing of 2x2 Lielā (big) street.

Hope you like it!

Thanks! And yes, the half of the hospital is abandoned.

Construction news:

On Pasta street near the recreation center there is planned a new 5 storey building, on street aside it will be a building, but entering to the park, it will pass on two-storeyed building. Think, that such building, in which an arcade type output will be also on a park and it will increase parks public sign.

Incomplete 5000 m2 on this place belong sole owners, which mutual unite wishes to build it with shops, entertainment places, offices and apartments. Construction start is unknown.

The sugar factory smokestack is being demolished now, just like it has been built it will be demolished per one brick only. The works started this week and hopefully will end next year.

Opened a new gas stewpan house.

On 19th December on Aviācijas street was opened a new gas stewpan house which task is to supply with heat and hot water in Lielupes right side living inhabitants (that includes me ) which before this with heat energy provided the AS "Jelgavas cukurfabrika" which in accordance with the enterprise restructuring was closed. Together stewpan house building costed approximately 1,6 millions lats.

Good work! Jegava is getting better and more comfortable with such development projects! Pity that other Latvian cities/towns can't afford such innovations...

Many Latvian towns are already brought in order more than Jelgava - in Jelgava there are still quite many Soviet time pavements and streets, many unrenovated buildings. Finally the towns of Zemgale have started to wake up, not only Jelgava, also Bauska due to it's 400th anniversary is going through rather big changes, I even can't recognize my town. Sadly, that economic crysis most likely will stop all this development next year.
