eddyk visits New York City - October 17th - 26th 2008 - PART 2

Here is the second part...I took nearly 700 photos while I was there so I have a lot to trawl through.

PART 1
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=737658

Jersey City

Down town with Flatiron building

Next day I walked down Lexington towards central park.

The amazing Hearst tower

And what a fantastic city park it is...the best I have ever visited.

While there I also took part in the 'race for life'...a charity walk raising money for breast cancer.

Nice on the outside...shit inside (artwork wise)

All the way down south now to Brooklyn bridge

GPS showing me where I am...incase I wasn't sure.

Or not...

In part 3 I watch the NY Rangers play in the NHL and the Knicks play in the NBA....both at Madison Square Garden.

Also the statue of liberty.

Great photos, but please continue to post more additions within this same thread rather than start a new thread. It is a better reference for the viewers to have them all collected in one thread, makes no difference for downloading time as that is dependent only on the number of photos per page, and thirdly keeps the forum tidier! Thanks.

Thanks for posting photos from your trip to NYC. How did the city compare to your expectations?

Good points and bad points.

Good -
  • Dining
  • I was never bored
  • The city is visually stunning

Bad -
  • Litter
  • Rude people - I would buy something from a shop and never get so much as a 'hello' or 'thank you' from cashiers.
  • Also....I held doors open for people like 100 times and only and handfull said thanks.
  • You had to pay for entry into museums.

In summary...it was the best city I have ever been to, but the people were just lame.

I spent 6 weeks last year in Nevada and California and found the people there the most polite I had ever come accross in the world.

Wow, you must have had bad luck with the people there! People are generally friendly when I visit the city except the taxi drivers and convenience store owners.

Maybe the financial problem has people down in the dumps?
