Hmm. I think the residents of Santa Teresa would beg to differ. I found the vintage trams a very useful means of public transportation.

More pics of the new Alstom train, first of the new 12 trains built by Alstom in Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the Brasilia Metro.

Os trajetos previstos no projeto original foram concluídos pelo governador do período 2007-2010 (cassado).

Pela numeração dos mapas (catálogos de telefone Listel), foram "puladas" as estações número 12, 15, 28 e 29.

http://doc.brazilia.jor.br/TrMetro/0...sNumeracao.htm

Mas ele lançou uma "expansão", começando com uma estação no início da Asa Norte, mais duas em Ceilandia e mais duas em Samambaia. As de Ceilandia "pegaram" os números 28 e 29.

Only I think that Brasilia Metro is exaclty a mixture of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo subways??? (I mean, station styles, train wagons) =]

Yes, it have some things that are present in São Paulo Metro (like the format of the third rail), and other things that are present in Rio de Janeiro Metro (like 6 doors/car and the format of the first rolling stock - that is almost identical to some present in Rio de Janeiro Metro).

Tram works are halted due to legal issues. There is also a small risk that new governor, who takes seat on 1 January, may not want to carry on with the project.

I’ve some questions (arose after viewing some websites). Please answer one by one –
1) Will line 1 (green line) be extended from Terminal Ceilandia to further northwest?
2) Will line 2 (orange line) be extended from Terminal Samambaia to further southwest?
3) Will both lines be extended from Central to Commercial Norte?

The future Brasilia tram is on an exhibition. I heard the construction started around July 2010 and is going on to open before Football World Cup 2014. is it true?

This is the recent planning, started by DF's government since 2007.
