Love the CBD shots. Vancouver really does have a nice city centre. Not so keen on the suburbs though - lots of low rise bland commercial strips from what I can see.

Nice pictures though and thank you for sharing them.

Can anyone explain why the older buildings in Vancouver don't have divided light windows? I've never see this in other cities. There are big plates of glass on the older buildings. Is the glass original? Here is an example.

Kitsilano is definitely my favorite part of Vancouver. I also love the Granville Market.

Kitsilano could pass for Andersonville in Chicago on that main drag.

you mean like this older one?

I think a lot of the buildings had their original windows replaced in the 70's or something I don't know - those aluminum looking windows are very common here

I know my friend lived in an old building and they had those divided type windows - but6 the building across the street from about the same time had all its windows replaced with the other kind - maybe it was a building code issue at the time they were replaced

I'm confused with the examples... do you mean the upper storey windows?
They look like ordinary old fashioned four pane sash windows to me..
