Euro04|Portugal - The best Euro ever by UEFA - stadiums and cities
![]() "The 2004 UEFA European Football Championship (or just Euro 2004) was the twelfth edition of the UEFA European Football Championship, a quadrennial football tournament for European nations, and was held in Portugal, between 12 June and 4 July 2004. Like in the previous two editions in England and Netherlands/Belgium, sixteen teams contested the final tournament after going through a qualification round which began in 2002. The tournament took place in ten venues located in eight cities — Aveiro, Braga, Coimbra, Guimarães, Faro, Leiria, Lisbon and Oporto." Euro 96 has been the best championships so far, in 2004 the games were dissapointing and never lived up to expectations although the stadiums were quite nice. Can't imagine UEFA praising England for anything, so it's no suprise they didn't (rightly) name 96 the best so far. I thought Euro 2008 was better than '04, games are what make the championships and there were a lot of great games.
Anyway this shouldn't be on this section of the forum, can admin delete please? |

Euro2008 had some superb matches. I can barely remember any from Euro2004, apart from the England ones.

I went over there Euro 2004 was absolutely brilliant. Beautiful cities and stadiums, lovely weather and a really nice and well-organised tournament.
Definately the best european championship I've been to. |
