About time but wonderful. Seville was a perfect candidate for a metro because it has the density for it! Well, all Spanish cities have the density for it but Seville has the population size too

I wouldn't say that Seville specifically meets the requirements for an underground metro, because I really think any city over 200.000 or 250.000 could have it (I mean the light metro version, which is exactly what Sevilla is going to have). What I just think is that Seville needs more lines than those cities with lower population. But still it doesn't mean that those smaller cities couldn't have as many lines as they may need.

That is just great. I'm looking forward to follow the development of this system.

The public lacks 27 days for the opening, while it(he,she) is increasingly frequent to see trains circulating, nowadays already they work in 10 of 16 kilometres that open in December.

Nervión's station was a gangplank this week to present the uniforms, designed for Victorio*Lucchino fashionable Andalusian designers.

Spring 2009, there was a cave-in just weeks before the opening, luckily no one died but the the premier was postponed.

Here you can see a film of the site

There isn´t any official opening date, but it is said that it will be before April.
This is disappointing for us, because it has been the third opening date which is cancelled

Here I post a PDF published by "Metro Sevilla" with photos taken around 18th December:

Some photos included in that PDF:

Spain builds amazing metros... the rest of the world could really learn a lot from the country.

Why has Spain been building so many lately? There wee huge extensions to Madrid's network, and some new things in Barcelona... did the government make it a priority?

Actually Madrid and Barcelona metros have almost a century of life (while Sevilla built a tunnel for an underground railways many decades ago: the project failed, but it is usefull for current new metro)

In last two decades Spain boosted on infrastructures to substain its growth, not only metros, but also railways and motorways

Ok thanks for the info. I guess given the delays of the last 3 decades a few extra months is not too bad!

Quite clean lines on the design, certainly. Curious as to the final outlook, after all modifications.
