The base sure is strange. And yes, it is reminiscent of Aqua. But I like it, good for Miami.

Dezer Seeks Renewal Of Solis Sunny Isles Building Permit

July 16, 2013

Quote:
Developer Gil Dezer is asking the city of Sunny Isles Beach commission to renew a building permit for the 53-story Solis Sunny Isles tower.

Construction on the tower began in 2007, but was halted after 10 floors due to the economic collapse. Lender Mercantil Commercebank filed a foreclosure lawsuit against developer Alex Forkosh, but Mercantil later sold the note on the property to Dezer.

Although the case is still in court, Forkosh and Dezer appear to be cooperating in an effort to renew the permit; Both wrote letters to the Sunny Isles commission requesting the extension.

A memo issued by the city’s finance department in May reveals that the city is expecting construction at Solis to resume by the end of fiscal year 2013.
Time to get back to work!

Dezer: "I'll Have Title To Solis Property In 60-75 Days"

Quote:
Gil Dezer told the Sunny Isles commission yesterday that he expects that his company will have full ownership of the Solis property in Sunny Isles within 60-75 days.

Soloser, a company controlled by Dezer, owns the note on the property. A foreclosure suit was filed against the previous owner, but claims filed by buyers who made deposits for the Solis building must first be cleared.

Dezer promised that he will soon present plans to the commission for a ‘beautiful’ building on the site.

New Owners Offered $250k To Demolish Patially Built Solis 'Eyesore'

http://exmiami.org/index.php/categor...-architecture/

Quote:
Commissioners approved a resolution last week offering Edgardo DeFortuna and Manuel Grosskopf a $250,000 credit to demolish the Solis structure, which has been sitting half-built for years. The credit would apply towards Transfer of Development Rights, and would only be issued if a demolition permit is approved before May 1st. Demolition must also begin by June 1st.

Edgardo DeFortuna’s Fortune International Realty and Manual Grosskopf’s Chateau Group spent $41 million buying the Solis site late last year, then adding the neighboring Ocean Palms site a few weeks ago for $40 million.
With two adjoining choice sites purchased at blockbuster prices, expect something HUGE at this site...

This is What the Chateau Group is Building at the Solis Site

Quote:
The still-unnamed project on the site of the former Solis Hotel project (which was partially built, and is now being demolished) is a partnership between Chateau Group and Fortune International and will be 649 feet tall (which is exactly the FAA height limit for the area), and 50 stories, with 212 units, ranging in size from 2 bedrooms, to 4 bedrooms plus staff room, according to exMiami.

FAA approved: http://www.thenextmiami.com/index.ph...n-sunny-isles/

Quote:
It’s Christmas in August for three Miami developers, after the FAA approved the heights of their projects. They include:

• Brickell Flatiron, approved for a height of 734 feet above ground.

• Marc Robert’s Park West tower at 50-60 NE 11th Street (part of Worldcenter), replacing Euforia nightclub building. Approved for a height of 699 feet above ground, or about 10% taller than Miami Innovation Tower on the same block.

• Ritz Carlton Residences Sunny Isles, approved to build at 642 feet above ground.
