hkskyline's 2008 ADELAIDE #6 - Mount Lofty, Hahndorf, Mannum

210. Switching gears a little bit, on a beautiful weekend, HSBC and I ventured up to Mount Lofty to admire the views of the city.

214. We saw people hiking up towards this lookout point. I can't imagine making that trek uphill!

217. After the quick stop, we headed to Hahndorf for some German culture. It was a cute little town with nice lowrise buildings.

222. The main street wasn't so busy but it was probably due to time of day. I heard this is a popular day trip from Adelaide.

227. It's a bit hard to believe when I took these pictures, it was autumn, and now summer is almost here again.

235. We then ventured north to see the Toy Factory near Gumeracha. The rocking horse was huge! We didn't bother to pay the admission to go up though. Looking at it from the ground was already enough to feel its size!

237. As we continued down the highway, HSBC and I joked that we were going to be the first Hong Kong forumers to post photos of Mannum.

241. Soon we reached the Mannum River for our cruise.

242. The cruise was a very relaxing way to end the day, and I tasted the best apricot bread ever. I wish we could've stayed overnight on an overpriced houseboat though! They look a bit fragile but considering how calm the water was, I doubt it'll hit a wave and capsize.

247. The purpose of this visit was to see these yellow cliffs. Quite neat actually!

252. Unfortunately, drought and mismanagement of water resources upstream have resulted in the water levels dropping to very low levels, which has affected the bird life in the area.
