-Award by Federal Aviation Administration for being world wide the only maintenace with zero-failure index. The inspection report given by the unique authority of United States pioneering Civil Aviation in the world, certifying that THY can give maintenance service to all American civil airlines by indicating the capacity of the maintenance units are perfect.

2006
-1st place in being "on-time" and 1st place in "lost baggage"


2003: ca. 60 aircrafts, 9.000.000 passengers
2009: 128 aircraft +11 still being delivered + waiting for an offer by Airbus and Boeing for further 130 new aircrafts and 23.000.000 passengers

TURKISH AIR CARRIER LAUNCHES FLIGHTS TO MASHAD

STANBUL (A.A) - 16.03.2009 - Turkey's state-run air carrier said Monday it had begun flights to Mashad, Iran.

The Turkish Airlines will fly thrice weekly from Istanbul to Mashad on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and from Mashad to Istanbul on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

The airliner said Mashad was company's third destination in Iran and its 112nd world wide.

Turkish Airports

Well it's time to show some airports from Turkey since many developments have taken place in the last decade.


Istanbul AtatŘrk International:

AtatŘrk int'l is located on the European side of Istanbul and has a capacity of 27.000.000. Last year its capacity has been exceeded by 28.500.000 passengers due to booming airline sector in Turkey and Turkish Airlines' increasing number of international passengers.

Istanbul's second airport is located on the Asian side and served 4,5 million passengers last year and currently its capacity is being extended by a new terminal which will allow the airport to handle 25.000.000 passengers in total.

Currently my favourite airport is the Esenboga International in Ankara with 13.500.000 capacity which is the second hub of Turkish Airlines by the way.

Antalya International Airport.


Antalya with 9 million foreign tourist is Turkey's tourism center and thus a second termnial which is identical to the fisrt one was added some years ago which increased the capacity to 20.000.000 Antalya served 18.000.000 passengers last year so most porobably a new terminal will be added very soon.
