Taschen is not only a bookstore (with only a handful of selected global locations, mind you) but one of the world's foremost publishers of architecture and design books. Landing this retailer is not only a coup for the project but for the city itself. Though it may initially pose a very slight threat to Books & Books, I don't think it will be detrimental to it, as they're each ultimately catering to very different consumer markets.

Awesome. Topped off and they started putting the windows in as of yesterday. It will be ready for Art Basel.

It's happening simultaneously...the project includes extensive amounts of soapstone for the sidewalks (like in Rio de Janeiro), and that is looking great so far. It will be very special when all is said and done.

Wow, thanks for the construction updates, would love to see more once the facade treatments go up!

Also, pretty cool for Miami that it is getting a TASCHEN store, the only other locations outside of Europe are in New York and LA.

The building, in conjunction with the expanded Mall makes this my favorite project in the Miami metro this decade.

I like the fact that they planted mature shade trees instead of palm trees in the Lincoln Road extension, very nice.

they planted a lot of palms too, and it looks really nice

raymond jungles did a great job with this project, and the city should hire him for the new west8 park next to the nws

I remember how exciting it was when Cafeteria opening on South Beach. Everyone thought it was a little slice of Manhattan right there on Lincoln Road (and it was). Over time it became infused into the urban fabric of the neighborhood and it's rarely thought of as a NY joint now.

By the way, I swear by the Shake Shack. If you haven't been, you are in for a real treat!

In South Beach, it is rarely thought of anything anymore as Cafeteria closed well over 2 years ago.
