Am I the only one who prefers this one? Both proposals are stunning, but this one is even better. Plus, it includes a 350m~ secondary tower as you can see.

The new proposal is good so far. I wouldn't call it iconic but I'd like to see it somewhere build. The thing is though the original tower was something completely new never seen before. Just for that I'd wish we got that tower instead of the boxy one.

One more thing about the new design - remove those bloody trees from the roof

Yeah, please remove the trees from all the five roofs and two setbacks ASAP. But it's OK to have a few trees climbing the first five floors. And green grass is OK, too.

Zorg are you sure there has really been a design change? The pyramid design as you posted is the design on the cladding companies website.

The 'new' design you posted today is from Flickr. I would think the cladding companies website is a more credited source than Flickr.

Ok, so we have now reached September 2013 and according to tjnewcity.com, this will start construction this month.

We haven't had a photo update in over 100 days and I was seeking some clarity as to the current design (see post above) and whether or not this is on-hold or not.

I was looking at the thread for this tower on SkyscraperPage and someone said BIG stated this building was in indefinitely on-hold.

I'm just wondering what to believe and whether the news is reliable and trustworthy.

For both designs I am really confused how are they going to build each of them? The 2nd is not going to be hard as the 1st design. If the 1st design wins I can't imagine how they are going to build this like minecraft.

Also why is it named ROSE Rock, I searched online and it said it is type of rock and company. Is it developed by the company, using this rock to build it, or something else?

Wow, I can point out where Chow Tai Fook Binhai Center is going to be in the first picture.

Just look for the two MSD buildings (two dark blue buildings next to the CTF plot and you can see the area).

Back to Rose Rock, it looks to me like this may indeed have fallen into an on-hold situation. No more equipment on site which is sad to see.

Maybe the Yujiapu District as a whole needs to become more established before they go forward with this.

I don't think it's so difficult to build the minecraft design. It will have a core like the other megatalls. The only thing is, it will take longer to build the floors arround it because every floor is different, similar to 56 Leonard in NYC
