ok, you are right. Thanks for clearifying that.

What about WTC 1? I haven't seen new work there but do you have a comparison for that tower?

1WTC seems to be quiet for a good week and a half..I have no idea what's goin' on since the weather is good..Except it's kinda windy..Which could be the problem..Depends how strong winds are up there..Don't forget it's in open sky now..Above everything..

They should hit it around late October then, providing the mech floor doesn't take too much extra time.

Haha. It looks like 4WTC is getting into putting up one vertical column to reach higher just like 1 has these past few months x)

they put up other vertical columns too, but they are just hard to see in that picture because of the black building behind 4WTC

I can't confirm 637'.

Looks like you've got the right floor count though. T4 is at floor 41 under the old floor count, 50 under the new. I read some media articles that said T4 was at the 50th floor around the anniversary, but I think they were just using an approximate figure. It was really at the 48th floor on 9/11/11.

I don't have the height figures of the redesigned tower, just the original 947' version. Though if I looked those over I could probably confirm the newer version of T4. Simply by adding the additional office floors.

We probably just need to know the height of the set back (STR may know). Then subtract about 13.5' feet per office floor. But the mech floor maybe taller than the normal office floors... the setback's height would get us very close though.

When T4 was originally unveiled in 2006 it was 947 feet tall. They've since added a few more office floors. The basic design never changed, just more height.

Thanks for pointing that out, because I thought the same thing he did.

And Otie, thanks for your diagrams in the WTC threads and One57. They're amazing!

This tower is beautiful in person.

The funny thing too is that but for a limited number of citie (e.g., HK, Dubai, Shanghai, Chicago), it would be the tallest tower in any downtown. Here, however, it's the modest one that's lost in a crowd.

I get 592' 10" for the 50th floor. Then add a few more for the column splice. I basically counted up to the 50th floor. First office floor is the 16th floor.

Here is the original design below. It was 691' 10" to the setback. Using my ruler I make the mech floor about 24' high. They added two additional office floors before the setback, and one more above it. Something doesn't add up though. If you add 3 office floors @ 13.5' = 40.5'. Add 40' to the 946' 6" on this diagram, you get 987. So somewhere some other floor heights probably changed as well. Anyway, hope this helps.
