"Four WTC is up to the 61st floor and will top out this spring."

At the moment, it looks like this one will top out to roof height before 1 WTC

Cause Larry cares only about money. Many shorter buildings are more cost efficient than a few taller ones and that is all about which Larry cares. Larry doesn't care about rebuilding an icon

I don't understand this. Larry only cares about money? Have you considered that Larry is just not able to do anything more than what he is doing? Perhaps his hands are tied, he can only work with the resources he has.. just maybe. I also find it hard to believe that a rich guy like Larry at his stage in life still is motivated only by money. That would be a rather sad state of affairs. I'm sure Larry is doing what is most prudent rather than risk going into debt and go crazy with more expensive buildings.

Isn't it obvious that the economy isn't exactly booming right now? Building taller towers would be a major risk because the taller the tower the more expensive it is to build compared to more shorter towers.

Larry isn't interested in satisfying us, he is interested in what's best for his company so that it may survive long after he's gone.

I agree with you on that the current economy isn't the best. I also agree that it would be irresponsible from him to go 100% for iconic value. But I don't think that this justifies him to go 0% for iconic value. I think if he would let's say forget about 7WTC and make 2WTC 100 meters taller it wouldn't ruin him. In fact I'd say it would do the exact opposite cause 2WTC would then be far more iconic. Also I strongly disagree with him going in building his buildings from the shortest to the tallest. OK, going the opposite way would be economicaly problematic but let's say going first 2WTC then 7WTC, 4WTC and 3WTC is in my opinion still feasible. Just my 2 cents

You are speculating again about Larry's finances. How do you know 'it wouldn't ruin him'? You don't unless you have the financial books in hand. It's Larry's company, he can do whatever he sees fit and he ain't beholden to anyone, especially a group of enthusiasts on a forum. Most NY'ers probably wouldn't give two Sh*** about how tall the towers are. Maybe Larry is too prudent for your liking, probably for mine too, but that doesn't make it sane to go around in circles like mad men complaining that it isn't good enough when we have no ability to know what the finances look like. Have you considered what the lenders think of this? It might not be all Larry's fault.

I never said that it's all only Larry's fault though he is one of those (there are more of them) who are responsible for it in my opinion

That's your opinion. I think the new complex is plenty iconic. Also, making a tower taller does not necessarily make it more iconic.

No, you said that Larry cared only about the money (speculation anyone?)....which means he designed these towers shorter to save cash, but of course, that is pure BS speculation on your part, as you don't know what the finances look like and how much power Larry had to design a taller tower. Perhaps that was impossible and Larry had no choice due to financial constraints and lenders, etc.

Really, why are you so against Larry? Without him we might have some other developer who put up some garbage building 10x worse than these.

Lol at the notion of 298m being "short". Outside of some of those Chinese, South Korean, and Middle Eastern cities, this thing would stick out like a sore thumb.

PS, the plot just S of this building could do with a makeover...looks like it has a pretty ugly building there now.
