It is a park in Jersey City, by the old Lackawana Railroad terminal which is now part of a park/museum (it is not an active train terminal).

Clearly it will be an awesome view from there. It is a total pain to get there (from NYC you have to take the PATH to Jersey City, then a light rail train a few stations and then wait for a shuttle bus or take a long walk).

I think that was the point; to let bring in some aspect of the old WTC into the new.

It's in NEW Jersey, not Jersey. WTC is in New York, not York. This is USA not UK.

You're clearly from Los Angeles... Go to New York and you'll see that NO ONE who lives in Manhattan or NYC in general says "New Jersey," they say "Jersey." And New York is different, York doesn't work on it's own unless it's in England

the "new" is redundant in this area, so us New Yorkers just refer to it as Jersey.

Why does Jersey work and not York? Jersey is in the UK too. Just b/c Jersey has two syllables? I don't buy it.

People call it Jersey b/c NY's lack respect for the place.

Calling it Jersey is fine although a little demeaning, but don't pretend they couldn't use York for NY.

The thing is that the city is actually called Jersey City, which is in the State of New Jersey. So when the people speak of "Jersey" they mean Jersey City, not New Jersey, the same as when people say "New York" for New York City.
Hope that explains it

York doesn't work because it's a city in Pennsylvania! No shit! A major city at that. And how dare you call New Yorkers pretentious, New Yorkers basking New Jersey "Jersey" is in no way pretentious.
