You are not the first person to say that, and you will definitely not be the last

Also it works very well with the myriad different facades of the financial district skyscrapers. I used to think blue glass is too shiny to fit into the surroundings of such older buildings, but I completely changed my mind

It must be the very high quality of the cladding/facade that makes this beautiful. I can't see any other explanation really. The shape is simple but very effective. Those sharp edges makes it very elegant.

I'm assuming the section of Greenwhich Street in front of 4WTC is going to be finished by the time this opens in the fall right? I don't see how else they plan on having the area finished around this? Any one know?

That's right, the memorial will be accessible just across the street.

Wonder why they decided to pull out some of those windows in the above picture. Damage?

Probably. The two windows on the left are missing though because the tower crane was attached to the building where those missing windows are located.

The missing window below the setback I believe is from the crane accident they had a couple of months ago.

Oh ok, thanks for the info! So basically your saying once this opens in the fall the entrance to the memorial will shift to in front of 4WTC
until the rest of the site opens? In front of Tower 1 as well right since that should be opening not to long after?

the tower is beautiful and all (world's second largest mirror after 1wtc ) but the glass doesn't appear to be rising, just because it topped out doesnt mean they should stop the glass, in fact I thought the glass would rise twice as fast after topping out giving the steel workers a window working job. I was hoping it would be fully covered by now.

PS: who here is tired of 1wtc and 4wtc having the black tops after years of it?

At least glass seems to be going well on 4.
Shouldn't be too long until cladding reaches the top. Maybe two more months, I'd say.

You know, each builder has his own job, such as welding, placing glass, carpentry. One does not symply work on another job.

Btw that pic above makes you think this is the king in lower Manhattan, but then you look to the left...

The only good thing about 3WTC being a stump is that this one stands out a longer time and the north mirror is free to see.
