Pictures by John O' Shea, construction worker at 4 WTC:

This is the "window-washing" rig that is mounted on the roof of Tower-4. It can be easily moved around the perimeter of the roof on steel tracks and is used to support a "hanging scaffold" which glides down the side of the building and carries a crew of window washers/maintenance workers. The exterior of the building is ALL glass and will need full-time maintenance.

The wide-open spaces inside the floors of Tower-4! This is the west side of the 38th floor. No interior "fit-out" work has started yet on any of the floors. Waiting for the word!

Setting perimeter window "curtainwall" panels 66 floors up in the air at Tower-4 a few days ago! Setting these window panels at Tower-4 requires nerves of steel. All workers are required to wear a safety harness which is attached to a retractable lanyard. If you happen to slip, the retractible locks in, like a safety belt and stops your fall.

Installing "curtain-wall" window panels (approx. 6ft wide x 14ft high) on the 63rd floor of Tower-4 at The Trade Center a few days ago.

And the window panel gets lowered safely into place with the help of a mini-crane which is situated a couple of floors above.

Perimeter safety-nets are all closed up and everyone heads home safely. We'll do it all again tomorrow!

Future stairs leading down from the main lobby of Tower-4 being readied for a concrete pour.

Great updates, the caldding really requires much maintenance.

I can't believe the cladding has truly reached the top. It looks marvelous, a true beauty to behold

Wow! I never realized this, but there is going to be a lot of window washing a other window maintenance going on at the WTC! Just imagine washing some of the top floor windows at 1WTC!

Slightly off-topic, but

Incredible pic. I always thought you can't see stars in such huge cities because of all the lights

Tower 4 is really underestimated. You have to see the sun's reflection off it early in the morning. Amazing glass.
