I've been asking the same question! It appears 1 and 4 WTC have the same glass, but 1 WTC doesn't have the same effect (although it does looks great during a sunset).

The glass in each tower is designed and composed differently.

Why? I think it'd be pretty cool to have every tower in the complex with 4 WTC's glass, since it's so reflective.

4WTC's glass is the most reflective to emphasize the minimalist look that the architect F. Maki was trying to achieve. 3WTC has a darker tone to achieve that semi-industrial style of Richard Rogers. 2WTC would probably be more focused on the fins, and 1WTC probably had strength of the glass as a higher priority than colour.

I had already answered it underneath the first post you made.

2 WTC has fins?

I think the strength of the buildings should be divided within 1 and 2 WTC, or even the whole complex, but putting 1 WTC in the safe zone and ignoring all the other buildings- I'm not sure it's going to turn out well. But we're getting what we're getting.

And the glass looks ALMOST identical to me. 3 WTC's glass has more of a greenish (?) tint to it, and 1 WTC's glass is less reflective than 4 WTC's glass. And 7 WTC's glass is gray? Silver? I mean, I LOVE 7 WTC's glass, but I'm just not sure what color it is. And for 2 WTC, I heard it's some shade of blue, like 3 WTC's "mystery glass", because until a huge section of 3 WTC is clad, we won't find out what it REALLY looks like compared to 4 and 1 WTC.

2WTC will have fins like this:

From some angles the fins will make the building look like the facade is largely metal. Combined with the sheer verticality, it will be reminiscent to the Twin Towers.

Already now it is nearly invisible, with cleaner windows it'll be like a klingon Bird of prey

Where did you get that picture? And I thought they gave up on that color and went with blue. And by fins, do you mean those horizontal stripes?

The glass sample for 2WTC:

The fins are the vertical metal stripes.

I was right about the fins. And I was mostly right about the blue cladding thing, except it looks like blackish-blue.

Does anyone know what the holdup is regarding the removal of the external elevators?

Probably tenants fitting out their floors, same as 1 WTC?

I've also noticed that they finally started using the red aircraft warning strobes at night.

Is there any progress on the removal of the fencing or the lobby.
