When is Greenwich Street opening to the public

When is Greenwich Street in front of 4 WTC opening to the public?

When is the IRT Cortlandt Street subway station opening?

If 4 WTC is partly open to tenants, I'm assuming these other structures should be opening soon also.

Hey Guys!
I'm looking for some help.
I am currently modelling 4WTC for Google earth, but I need some textures to complete the model. Does any af you have any pictures of the facade (both main tower and podium) that are shot right in front of the building?

Port Authority Weighs Subleasing World Trade Center Space

By David M. Levitt - Oct 22, 2013

"The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is considering subleasing as much as a quarter of its new headquarters at 4 World Trade Center, the lower Manhattan tower it owns and is scheduled to open next month.

The agency, which oversees the region’s interstate ports and transportation infrastructure, last month issued a request for proposals from commercial-property brokers to advise it on finding tenants for as much as 150,000 square feet (14,000 square meters) of its 601,000 square feet of offices in the skyscraper. The space is on the 18th to 21st stories, according to the document.

“The authority has determined that it no longer requires the entire leased area,” the agency said in the document. “The authority intends to sublease this area in a manner that maximizes the potential financial return.”..."

Port Authority has WTC space to spare
By Lois Weiss

October 23, 2013 | 1:01am

"The Port Authority has been seeking a broker to sublease 150,000 square feet of its upcoming 600,000 square feet of new offices at 4 World Trade Center.

But it looks like the agency may try to give back the space to Larry Silverstein, who is developing the new 2,845,000-square-foot tower at 150 Greenwich St.

To mark the completion of the 72-story skyscraper, there will be an event with the Philharmonic Orchestra on the evening of Nov. 13 and opening ceremonies the following day."...

"...Insiders say a “bean counter” cooked up the sublease proposal as a way of generating revenue, and that the agency is unlikely to follow through. Instead, it may try to hand back the space to Silverstein, who isn’t likely to take too kindly to this proposal without a financial incentive..."

No prob! Have not heard any sort of news about when it will be opened to the public. My guess is, maybe when 4 WTC will be opened for business, at least partially or when 1 WTC opens in early 14'.

The problem is I would think they will need the street/space for construction while the Hub completes and 3 WTC starts to resume.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not looking to walk the rebuilt Greennwich the length of the WTC complex. Merely to walk/stand on the stretch in front of 150 Greenwich St.

Like you say, they should open that stretch when the tower opens for business. I assume the 1st tenants in will be the PANYNJ.

I also assume the tower has access through it's lower levels to the rebuilt Cortlandt St IRT station; the tower is on the corner of Cortlandt & Greenwich.
And I assume that access opens before the long delayed transportation hub. All assumptions but it certainly would make it convenient for the PANYNJ tenants.

The first external hoist being removed, by WTC Progress on Facebook..

I wonder if the second one will follow as soon as the first one is gone, or if it will be needed in the coming months..

Looks like a giant checkers board.

Love the use of marble throughout the whole site.

Thanks for posting that link. My takeaways:
Tower opens 11/12
Greenwich St in front of tower opens soon

The gleaming 978-foot tower opens on November 12, 2013...
...
Greenwich St., which will soon reopen to traffic for the first time since it was incorporated into the 16-acre World Trade Center superblock..

November 12? I can't wait! It's going to be SO awesome when it opens.

This is only 4 days after the CTBUH determines if 1 WTC's spire counts or not. I wonder if the decision's going to affect how much people celebrate the opening. It'd be sad if people didn't watch it open just because they're sad about a decision that's made about another tower.

I'm confused though as to why they have that all set up if nobody is even going to be working up on those floors for a while. Weird.

I don't think it's completely done yet. The furniture looks to be weighed down by sand bags. Temporary for photo op?

The biggest tenants are the PANYNJ & NYC, leasing ~1.2 M sq ft. of the tower's 2.3 M sq ft.

I assume there should be public plans/announcements/reportage regarding when they are going to move into the tower.

This previously linked recent Businessweek/Bloomberg article has more info on the two tenants & lower Manhattan rent costs.

http://www.businessweek.com/news/201...e-center-space

On the question of access to the streets surrounding the tower wikipedia states this, though I could NOT find the reference:

Quote:
In September 2013, it was announced that all construction fencing surrounding WTC 4 will be removed, instead of minimal removal only providing a pathway to and from the street and doors of the building. The removal of all fencing will provide pedestrian access to the Memorial Plaza, the surrounding streets, and eventually the other 5 WTC buildings.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4_World_Trade_Center

PS: I am impressed how miserable (incomplete/out of date) the information provided by the web sites of the various agencies involved in the reconstruction of the WTC complex is. NYC is one of the media hubs of the western world and you figure the politicians and their appointees know that providing accurate info placates at least some of the voting public.

This graphic shows how the LMCCC considers the relevant parts of the WTC as of 10/21/2013. 0760 is 4WTC, 1330 is the "WTC Transportation HUB" as opposed to 0690, which is the "PATH Transit Hall - Oculus". I have no idea if the WTC Transportation HUB includes the rebuilt-but-not-open-yet IRT Cortlandt St subway station. Pink indicates Restricted Access: I assume the pink around 4 WTC will be turn white when this PDF is updated on Monday November 18:
http://lowermanhattan.info/construct...hattan_Map.pdf
Note that Greenwich St is shown as a southbound one-way street north of the WTC
