Yah, that is what is shown in the recent photos of the corner of Greenwich & Cortlandt. Cortlandt separates 3 from 4 WTC.
Photo posted by NYCD, looking sorta NE across this corner @ the 3 WTC stump on the other side of the construction barrier/fencing:

And here's the same 4 WTC corner in daylight on 11/16 by wirednewyork.com's zippythechimp, but looking sorta NW with construction access turnstiles after the water feature & then the 9/11 Museum entrance across Greenwich St. And 1 WTC after the museum entrance & a few columns of the 3 WTC stump on the right.

Dunno how many leaves are left on 9/11 memorial trees after yesterday's winds...

The LMCCC map dated 11/18/2013 still shows the 4WTC site (0760) as being included in the WTC Restricted Access color code:

Note again that the 11/12 Jessica Dailey article with Will Femia photos on ny.curbed.com states:

The 46-foot-tall lobby, which is open to the public, was designed to be completely open and transparent so passers-by can see inside.
under the photo of the building's "main" (my term) lobby. This lobby has escalators going down to the transit concourse that I assume will lead you to the IRT Cortlandt St subway station. Photo is looking east along the north side of Liberty St with Greenwich St in foreground:

Apparently there is no outside-the-building subway/PATH/transit concourse entry on the section of the reconstructed/reopened Greenwich St in front of 4 WTC. I don't know what the situation is on the Church St side of 4 WTC.

There's an entrance/exit straight across Greenwich on the memorial side. See this picture from 2011. The second set of stairs is tough to see from this angle, but the wooden set of temporary stairs near the bottom right leads to them.

Thanks for that info & photo. I haven't been down to the WTC this year yet. I assume the stairs are covered with something aesthetic-looking at the moment, or not?

Am I correct in assuming that the dumpster, dumpster truck, etc, are on top of Greenwich St & IRT subway box?

What's the trench between Greenwich St & the memorial?

I think the trench might have been where the PATH train tracks were going under the site, but I'm not sure, I could be wrong

Yeah, that's the subway box. I think the trench is just the gap between the memorial and the subway box itself. Not sure why they waited to fill it in like that, but you can still see a bit of the gap on Earthcam just east of the memorial building.

As for what the entrances look like today - I'm not sure. I actually forgot about them until you mentioned the lack of entrances on the other side of Greenwich.

A rendering of proposed security measures near the World Trade Center site that residents call onerous.

Really??? Has this actually been proposed? This is absolutely ridiculous. This is pretty much saying no American can be trusted and everyone is guilty until they are proven innocent. I understand security but this is as outlandish as the NSA. It's paranoia porn. How disgraceful.

Hopefully those that are suing over it win their case or at least something to seriously downgrade what they want to put up. That's disgusting. Why rebuild the streets then? Might as well make it all one plaza like the original if that's the case.

Unfortunately, welcome to the post 9/11 World Trade Center complex.

According to the NYT that sally port rendering for W. Broadway is conceptual. "The actual installation may look different"
Note also that the east side of W. Broadway at that conceptual sally port is an actual 1930's art deco/ art moderne FEDERAL office building

I had not read the NYT articles before, they make for an interesting read. I assume it ties into the continued inclusion of 4 WTC into the LMCCC published map's Restricted Access zone. I've cut&pasted a taller version this time so that you can read more of the streets names & traffic flow directions to correlate to the NYT articles/images.. 0760 is 4 WTC & the orange stripes on Church St indicate Moderate (>40%) Roadway impact. I assume this is a reference to the construction barriers blocking off at least the west lane of Church St:
image hosted on flickr

My above comment about the current state of Church St might correlate to this conceptual rendering from the May 16, 2013 NYT article. The Century 21 building is a real building on the east side of Church St., north of Cortlandt St :

New York Police Department
As Church Street might appear with its westernmost lane set off as a restricted roadway for World Trade Center traffic.

This is what the lane closures looked like in June 2011 (down to two lanes), according to GoogleEarth. Based upon my memory & the 4 WTC opening photos I think it's similar now. Cortlandt St is on the right in both the rendering & GE street view image. You're looking north with the 1930's FEDERAL office building in the photo center:

Thanks for that info: I was starting to wonder if they put the subway entrances within the building lobby for an extra level of screening.
But that wouldn't make sense, especially for visitors to the 9/11 memorial plaza or 9/11 museum.

I really should get over there before the weather really gets cold...

Dafuq? Why did they make those streets within the World Trade Center then if they are to be closed. I'm an extremely paranoid person but this is ridiculous even to me. That's like walking through a metal detector in my own apartment when I wanna go on the toilet

Why did they make those streets within the World Trade Center then if they are to be closed. - I think this is the evolution of various large organizations, special interest groups & politicians battling back and forth over last 12 years.

The evolution towards greater vehicle restrictions could also have been influenced by the continued use of car & truck bombs in the Mid-east. For example during our occupation of Iraq/afterwards and the ongoing civil war in Syria. Remember also that we got lucky when that US citizen/terrorist wanna-be's attempted car bombing of Times Square, NY misfired on May 1, 2010.
And we (the USA) have an active, global program killing terrorists and unlucky bystanders/passerby.

To paraphrase the idiot/savant Donald Rumsfeld: are we killing them faster than we are making them?
