I don't think they should put roads through the complex, honestly. I like it the way it used to be, just one giant superblock. They especially shouldn't do this if they are going to restrict access on those new roads.

I think the whole idea of "rebuilding Greenwich street" was just a marketing scheme to gain planning approval. People shouldn't have expected them to actually allow ordinary vehicles to drive so close to the buildings, considering how paranoid the police are about that site.

I suppose it'll essentially be an unofficial pedestrianized zone.

Great to see this building "completed" also.

Maybe in the future, if there are no terrorist attacks in the area, they will ease up on security.

No. The superblock of the original WTC ate the heart out of that portion of lower Manhattan and hampered the flow of traffic in all directions. Not just motor traffic, but foot traffic more importantly.

Again, people are missing the point here. Regardless of whether or not you think vehicles should be allowed near the entrances of these buildings, the security measures they're putting in place don't interfere with the main intent of reintegrating the WTC with the Manhattan street grid.

No, it is not finished, internally or externally. They only "opened" it so that the mayor could take part in the ceremony.

This building looks awesome in person. The pictures don't do it justice. Very clean lines, very modern and an architectural nod to the entire site. Classy. I'd love to work in this building, especially in a corner office looking over the rest of the site.

It's really prominent without 3WTC next to it.

Not yet. The elevators have only come down to the floors that have tenants.

Man. This would be the crowning jewel in so many skylines, and people in NY barely seem to notice it. I really can't wait for 3 WTC to join it and complete the first pair of "twins." The prince and princess of the FiDi royal family, if you will.
