Great for the area.

I see colors all over, jersey city, hoboken, manhattan, bayonne, newark. Also outside my window, and along the region's rail lines.

Alright, here's the upcoming schedule for this tower from cubsfan, on Wired New York. Sounds like 4WTC is just about to get on its way.

This is how they will be able to pour 6 pours in 10 days. Concrete work will then stop to allow the steel erectors in to do their part of the work. Concrete is supposed to resume 3 months after steel begins to go up."

Oh, hey. I thought this tower was only going to be concrete?

No, I don't think anyone ever said the structure was going to be all concrete. The steel is all already made, it's sitting in the same yard as the Freedom Tower steel.

The tower's steel is all ready to go up into the sky.

Sounds like we were all worrying about nothing. Just like the case with Beekman Place.

It always amazes me how talls get built in NYC. You look at construction sites in Las Vegas where they have 20 or more acres of dirt for staging and maneuvering and compare that with this immensely complicated site. I can't imagine a more difficult environment to build 5 towers, a museum/memorial, a major rail station, and all in a "bathtub" that is constantly under pressure from groundwater and vibration, oh and in the heart of a densely developed financial district. Rather than applaud the speed of any construction here, I'm applauding the ability to manage this unbelievable project.

Excellent observations. You have made some very good points.

We must not forget that Manhattan Island has the advantage of a very solid bedrock of Manhattan Mica Schist and has an ideal geology for building skyscrapers ... no need to drive pilings into the ground.
