Not let up yet. If steel does arrive next month as the rumors suggest, this one could be a few stories high by the end of the year. Let's hope so!

That site is crowded with people. Looks like they are working on the rebar for the ground floor.

I like the Freedom Tower design and the 2 towers that haven't been built yet (wtc 2 and 3) but I think the WTC 7 and WTC 4 designs are not very interesting; but the important thing is that NYC rebuilds.

I am happy with the design of this tower, it reminds me of the twins more than any of the other towers being built/planned at the site.

Im really interested to see how this translates into real life, hopefully the color is the same as wtc7 and then there wont be a problem.

It's a shame they're building the most boring tower of the lot, to be honest! Let's hope the cladding is top quality and looks stunning otherwise all it'll do is reflect traffic.

I agree it is the most boring of the lot, but it may very well be the least expensive and that's why they are building it first.

I think cost is a big factor as well as the fact that it is in the corner of the street unlike wtc 3 so it is easily accessible, and this one probably gives the most floor space per floor. I just wanna say we shouldnt be complaining this bad boy is almost a supertall it will have an extraordinary impact on the skyline and honestly it doesn't look half bad.

If you told me 4 years ago that 4 World Trade Center would be the second building taking shape and possibly the first to top out, I would have never believed you...mostly b/c of the name...I think the simpleton in me assumed it would be built 4th. Obviously I was wrong.

4WTC is being built first because it has a tenant, the Port Authority (1/3 of the building, but Silverstein can require them to pay as much as 2/3). With that in place, Silverstein was able to secure financing for this tower. Unlike 2 or 3WTC which have no tenants as yet lined up.

That last pic is actually funny to see. It reminds me of an European city since you can see a pedestrian street . I only know the US from pics, and all I ever see are streets where cars and pedestrians are mixed.
