I think that whenever 4WTC tops out and the rest of the east bathtub is up to street-level (sometime around late 2011/early 2012, they should move the temporary entrance to the transit hub to 4WTC.

As it is now, the transit hub won't open fully until the beginning of 2014 (as predicted in October 2008), and that's only if they haven't and won't fall behind schedule. This means that the temporary entrance won't be able to begin dismantling until 2014 (or later), which delays not just the start of construction for the PAC but has a huge affect on the entire site... Greenwich Street can't open until the temp entrance is dismantled, visitors to 1WTC won't be able to use the east plaza or use the east entrance, delivery trucks will have no access to 1WTC's below-grade loading docks, etc. They definitely need to find a new entrance as soon as possible so that they can begin dismantling this huge obstruction as soon as possible.

Not necessarily. It's been stalled for over a month.

I don't know why some of you thing that this is going to overtake wtc1. It never will!

But I'm glad to see that the deconstruction of the former Deutsche Bank building is on the right track. Guess it will be overtaken by wtc4 in august/september.

I was there recently, and they are doing a lot of concrete work now around the southwestern columns. Its just the steel that stalled, but maybe they can't put up new steel until the concrete work is done.

I wonder what's been added on the south side? Looks almost like glass... I'm sure it's not though. Some pics of that side would be nice.

Roughly half of that side of the building is going to be concrete, since there are a lot of stairwells and emergency exits that are on that side. In the pic, it's either the finished concrete or the forms for the concrete.

Thanks, I also found a render showing that side on wtc.com.

Larry Silverstein on CNBC today: "By Sept 11, 4 WTC steel will be up to 40 floors, the curtainwall will be up to 25 floors."

I hope you talk about September 2011

Only Chuck Norris could build 34 floors in 4 months

34 floors in 16 months .. not impressive, but sounds ok for me

No chance. I remember earlier, they said they'd be up to only the 20th floor by the end of the year. 34 more floors in 4 months ain't gonna happen. I hope he proves me wrong though. But I think Larry might be getting a touch of Alzheimers. Or else he really meant the 10th anniversary date, Sept 11, 2011. That'd be more reasonable.
