What exactly is the function of the large ramp looking bits in the portion to the east next to church street? Will they be stairs, escalators, part of some artistic element?

Steel erection for T4 will resume in early August With coordination between the Port Authority and Silverstein Properties continuing, the east side of the World Trade Center (WTC) site is again an active construction site in all areas. Steel at Tower 4, on the south end of the East Bathtub, is up to the sixth floor and concrete is being poured for each of its decks. Masonry on its substructure also will begin soon, requiring a sub-grade hoist to be installed this summer. Steel erection for T4 will resume in early August.

Initial foundation work on Towers 2 and 3 also is ramping up starting with tower footings preparations and some early utility coordination. Construction will be increasingly visible through this summer, with extensive planning between the towers’ contractors (Tishman for T3 and Turner for T4) and the Port Authority for its WTC Transportation Hub -- which will occupy the block between them. Currently a large crane is at the Hub site, where it will be used to lift massive steel members into place, and crews have started concrete pours for its footings.

Indeed August.

[QUOTE=spectre000;60096349]Pictures by Sherpa, WNY. (Deutsche Bank Building noticeable shorter).

There have not been any workers at the Deutsche Bank building in 2 weeks. I know this because I can see it from the window at my job. Either they are not working because of the heat wave, or there must be a stop work order. Does anyone know?

Well they lowered the crane today. Over at WNY, GreenwichBoy had pictures of two pieces of the hoist being removed. I believe it's down to the 12th floor now. They must be there...

Maybe is another shipwreck!
I've read in the One WTC thread that in this 4WTC site a cave was found. What kind of cave was? Is there any picture of that?
This site is getting full of surprises! . And something came up now: I wonder if would be any chance that the remains of the ship stay in this place (after a proper restoring), in a expo room that is obvious not part of the actual complex design. It would be interesting a redesign of part the memorial in order to show up this fantastic discovery.

I was thinking the same thing, also didnt they find some sort of special rock at the site also?

Maybe even have a display in the new transit center?
