Hopefully by next month we'll see new steel around the tower cranes and this one can start getting taller.

How tall is this baby?

I know this sounds like a question a child might ask, but what is the height of this at the present (I've been studying the pictures, and it looks like 5 or 7 or maybe 9 stories tall)???

Inquiring minds want to know!

Culwulla includes this tower in his diagrams of 1WTC, if you can find it amongst all these pages...

More than likely they are trying to prevent SOME kind of airborne particles from being carried on the wind and blown out onto the public streets. I have no idea what that could be though...

UPDATE: Yup, looks like Dino is right. In the pics with the large "sheets" being raised, you can clearly see that none of the beams on the ceiling of the lobby have been sprayed with the fireproofing, but in the most recent batch of pics where the sheets around the lobby have been removed, you can see the ceiling has been fireproofed. They probably didn't want the spray blowing in the wind and covering all the looky loo's on the street below.

Yes, that's how thing work with fireproofing...They put protection because too much of fireproofing material would go in the air and around the building...It's a waste...
