They were built between 1980 and 1985. They were refurbished instead of buying new ones because they've been so reliable. No need to buy something new, if what you have can still be used perfectly.

p.s. The concrete company ( Quadrozzi) has been around for 54 years, so they possibly were involved in the construction of the original WTC.
