This one seems that it will have a similar impact on LM as Beekman has done.

Tower 4 actually has a more matte finish to the glass than Tower 1. Tower 1 is to be the most reflective out of all the WTC buildings to be built.

Neither glass has a matte finish, despite earlier reports. Matte is dull and diffuse, like brushed aluminum. The glass panels are, clearly, quite glossy and reflective. Tower 4 is more reflective, as it appears to have a thicker glazing on it.

Nice glass panels. I see they are installed across 2 floors. How do they stop a fire from spreading from one floor to the next?

Should have new vertical steel going up any day now. It's been a couple of weeks.

Touch mullions and spandrels.

New steel went up today on the west side. That's floors 28 and 29.

Excellent news. They are keeping up the steady pace of two floors every two weeks.

Now that we are past spring (weather wise if not calander wise) the pace should be very steady through late October. Excessive heat might be very uncomfortable but I don't think it slows anyone down.

It should pass that lousy building with Century 21 in it soon.

It's the memorial, but the design has changed.

Some pics by me from yesterday: (06/10/2011):

seriously? I really don't like the cladding...maybe because right now look dirty, but even when the cladding on 1WTC was on the same stage I really loved it, but not this one. But I hope that the final result will proof me wrong

I wouldn't say that I hate it, from the distance it looks decent, but being just few meters away the cladding looks quite cheap - reminds me a lot a type of cladding used in 80-90's. I expected someting better especially in this complex...

Nice pics!

'40 floors by Sept. 11' -seems like Silverstein's prediction was spot on! The glazing is courtesy of Fumihiko Maki, an architect well known for attention to quality so while in appearance it seems ordinary, in reality, the glazing will shimmer quite nicely.

I think the reason it looks cheap is because the frames around the glass are white/silver where as on WTC1 they are darker. It just gives it a cheaper feel because the glass is separated, if they used darker frames it would look much better.
