Why are you guys just now reacting to the height decrease, which happened over a year ago?

3WTC used to be 1240ft/378m (or 1255ft/383m according to come sources), but with the redesign, long-time SSC/SSP user STR deducted that the height had been lowered to 1170ft/357m. We have known this information for a very long time.

On the subject of 2WTC, it is extremely unlikely that it would get any height change, up or down. The foundation of the building has been complete and much of the first floor. Additionally, Silverstein has stated that 2 is his favorite of the new WTC towers and intends to build it the way it has been designed, which could be part of the reason that he is saving it for last.

^ thanks for the link.

I just checked out 2WTC and it says it will reach 1,270 ft. Did they lowered this?? Maybe they did not include the antenna height? I dunno

^ never mind. The antenna is not included. The Tri Pod shaped antenna will bring it up to 1,359 ft.

"Interior work is ongoing at 175 Greenwich, though rumors continue to swirl that Silverstein has landed an anchor tenant. Current speculation is that GroupM has signed for a 550,000 square foot lease, which would exceed the 400,000 square feet needed to get the tower built. Once that happens, chances are that leasing will shift to 200 Greenwich"

-Oh my goodness! I certainly hope this is true and we could hear a announcement very soon. Stay Tuned!

That blog seems quite sure the lease with GroupM has been signed. Does it have any sources providing or backing the "speculation"?

It's my blog and the speculation is just that. Though it has been reported that GroupM is close, and Bloomberg has also personally said that 3WTC should begin construction soon.

I do the same thing. When I need a New York fix, it's always skyscraperpage.com and NYYimby. Curbed is a distant third and I look at SSC every day anyway so it doesn't really count

Ha, not Kanto, The Real Deal among others has reported the discussions with GroupM, so it is very legitimate. But that DID give me a start back on 4/1 for a second.
