As to the site, it is the same site of the old WTC but the buildings are not on the same spot where the Twin Towers were. Here is a diagram of the site:

Ah thanks man, appreciate the help really do. This site just seems to be plagued with problems. When the old WTC went up they just built them and waited for tenants. Does not seem to be the case here though.

Yeah, the previous way didn't work out too well for the market. Rents nose dived. It's been suggested Silverstein should lower rents but that would just have similar results. They're asking for $60-70 for these buildings. Places like the WFC/Broofield Place want about $50. If the PA and Silverstein lower the asking rents, that'll force other buildings to lower theirs as well. Soon it becomes a race to the bottom.

These are amongst the newest, most modern buildings in the US. They should be priced accordingly. Sadly it means it could take a bit longer to lease up and build them though.

I did just read that 4 WFC/Broofield Place just signed a law firm for 400k sq ft of space. So that's a good sign for the area..

^Well 4 more to go if you count Performing Arts Center (which I'm hoping they rename 6WTC or at least have that as its street address it seems weird to have 1,2,3,4,5,7 and no 6.)

Not such a bad idea, why not. After all the old 4,5 and 6 were lowrise buildings too.

have you ever experienced watching the rain move towards you at the edge of a fast moving storm? instead of spontaneous rain drops, it's a wall of water :O

NY has gotten it's fair share of rain in the past few days

Contrary to popular belief, anytime you have the right pressure systems colliding, you can get tornados...

I know. If there is a 6WTC, has it been called something else?

That is not a hurricane. This occurred in September before Sandy was even forming.

Pretty obvious, tornadoes and hurricanes don't even look like each other.

Really? They won't restart 3WTC after this year anymore even if Silverstein found tenants?

That's not true. At all. Silverstein will have to cap the tower at the end of the year IF A TENANT isn't found, but that's only temporary until a tenant signs a lease.

This and 2 WTC thread should be locked since it's causing nothing but confusion and spam.

Yeah, it's beginning to sound like those rumors of GroupM signing a lease were false. If we can get at least a ~500,000 square foot lease, then construction will continue to the top and 2WTC will begin looking for tenants.
