7 WTC┤s base contains a CON ED substation. That┤s the main reason, it has a base like this.

The layout was intentional: when executed correctly, empty spaces highlight architectural attributes.

Anyways, new equipment being installed on B4 subgrade level, electrical related.

What's wrong with its base, 7WTC has the triangle park and the balloon statue fountain.

Taken by me yesterday afternoon. Figures to be quite a view in another year with the PATH hub going up too; and even more so when 2WTC gets off the ground as well (eventually).

A more open and inviting presence would be better.

Seems like you tried to mimic my view of all the WTCs

All these problems selling space in these towers would have been avoided if they had built twin towers with one medium rise next to them.

Another idea: Perhaps the WTC2 design could have been the twins built adjacent to tower one.

It wouldn't have made any kind of difference. Both 1 and 4 WTC aren't fully leased, and they have less square feet than the twins did.

So if we indeed did get another twin design, we would be in the same situation we're in now.

And how dare you! Get rid of 2 WTC!?!? Off with your head.

don't make things up. But yes, the cladding seems to have progressed.

While it wouldn't be a good idea to leave the steel exposed for years at a time, the steel comes with a protective layer of rust before they even put it up. This steel has only been up for what, almost a year? Not going to be a problem.

I agree. Granted, designing for humans at street level would have been more costly because it would have necessitated the con-ed substation being built in a more expensive location and on a more expensive timetable.

Hopefully this isn't seen as trolling. We should openly recognize when designs are human friendly or built with some other criteria prioritized. Our love for the city or the WTC should not blind us to that topic nor cause us to be annoyed when it is raised.

This is why I am excited to see 3WTC be built. It and all the other buildings are needed so that the experience of living life at the WTC becomes as positive as possible. The endless construction is fun for us skyscraper geeks but not that great for everyone else just trying to enjoy being in the area.

I think you misread. I want to give us TWO WTC2s.

They can invite facebook, twitter, google, and apple to sign some leases. Then we can call the building the "Tech-Tower".
