Vertical construction will resume early next year once Group M finalizes their lease on this tower.

Are you sure? I mean, that would be great, but I haven't heard of people fitting out the interior of a supertall without completing the outer structure/ topping it out. But if this is what is happening, that's great!

Well, from what I heard the underground parts of both tower 3 and tower 2 are essential for the operation of the PATH hub and they want to have the hub operational in 2015. Of course, I could be wrong with this. Otie will know more

That clearly points out why it's taking a while to get these towers filled. The amount of space is just enormous.

There is a lot of conflicting information out there about the square footage of the WTC towers. In that image, it doesn't look like 1 WTC can be 3 million sq. ft., and 3 WTC 2.8 million. The figure I have for 3 WTC is 2,238,000 (about the same as 4 WTC's 2.3 million).

Even at that lower figure, 3 WTC is a huge building that is flying below most people's radar. That's the same square footage as the Empire State Building (2.25 million square feet). It's also essentially the same size, aside from the dirigible mast and antenna set atop the main structure:

Have they started working on the lobby? Seems they could be doing something while they wait for the GroupM deal to finalize.

This is about rebuilding destroyed office space. Not million dollar condos for foreigners looking to hide their cash from their own governments.

The designs are set. You can't just convert office buildings to residential without major reworkings (plumbing, elevators, mech, etc).

The tower 5 site may become a hotel/residential building. But 2 & 3 will be built. No matter how long it takes.
