Is that an old picture or are they removing the glass?

And the crane is still there.

That photo had to have been taken during the Summer.

The design is a bit restrained by Richard Rogers' standards. I'm sure that it's out of respect for the site. But I would have liked to have seen something with a bit bolder design, like the Foster building. It's possible to be innovative and respectful at the same time. The Calatrava transportation hub is is extremely bold in design and yet in no way disrespectful to the memory of those who perished here.

No... That picture above is old. Almost all the first floor on the podium has glass except where elevators and cranes will go.

Quick question, when do you suppose construction will resume? February? March? Or maybe the end of this month?

Most likely in a month or two. Be on lookout for some activity on EarthCam, they may start doing some prep soon.

Guess we already can say that this building is another perfectly fine designed building for the site!

Why do the cladding before you have even started on the main skeleton?

They started the cladding before the deal with GroupM to start building the rest of the tower was made. They thought they would leave the building as a stump.

I guess they want to do the cladding now so that they don't have to worry about it later. Because the first pieces of 1 WTC's base cladding wasn't installed until about it was halfway completed skeleton wise. However, some buildings that rise fast don't have the cladding installed as fast. Just look at the Pingan International Finance Center.

It's about 45 percent completed, and cladding hasn't been installed yet. I think it's really an issue of steel vs. glass.
