The moment that vertical construction resumes will be soon enough to call it UC again.

Funny enough, I was at the site on Friday and asked a construction worker who was walking in front 3 WTC when construction would start, all he said was that they "took the money away". I proceeded to tell him that it's all over the news and he still seem to be to oblivious to what the hell I was talking about, saying that I shouldn't believe "what was on the news".

I'll get excited when a new cab and boom arrive.

Most workers still don't know about it, with the exception of the contractors I listed above. There will be an additional 3,000 workers coming to work on the tower, but I'm unsure of the contractor involved with that.

There are few workers at the site at the moment. Hopefully preparing for this thing to start up again.

I also noticed quite a bit of materials delivered behind it, however I can't see it anymore.

2 and 3 WTC are entirely private and free to proceed without interference if Larry Silverstein actually wanted to. But Silverstein is trying to wiggle subsidies out of the Port Authority anyway.
Since someone seems to think that I am uninformed and know little about business or economics, I will make my case here: http://opmaex.wordpress.com/2014/06/...it-unfinished/

Apparently my comment was a bit more 'well-informed' than some thought.

Thanks for the link! It may make a few of the people who think the problem is Silverstein's change their minds!

I hope that the exposed rebar is still in an acceptable state. I recall someone mentioning that it would be many years before the rebar sustained any appreciable damage, but I'd welcome a second opinion.

There's still no work going on at all. I really think it's doubtful they will already start up everything again in this month.

'Hey Steve, what's this for?'

'Dunno. But it's been here for a while. Some kind of ancient artefact. Don't touch it.'
