Otie's statement is a clear verification.

I remember reading here a while ago about the possibility that Silverstein pre purchased the steel and store it in some facility to protect against raising costs of materials whenever towers 2 & 3 are ready to rise in the future??

I don’t know the validity to it and is that something developers can do in this case?? But it would make sense and something Silverstein would do. Could anyone touch up on this?

Anyway, if that is the case what kind of work can be done with $150M minus the purchase of the steel???

I think the contractors will start using their own money to buy materials and hire workers as long as Silverstein starts paying them monthly. that's why they'll start construction now even if $150M is barely 10% of the necessary money they'll need to raise. I mean, they'll charge him later for it.

In all honesty I have no idea how materials financing happens, but I seriously doubt it's like this. Then again, it seems pretty audacious to restart construction with only $150M so obviously something else is cooking.

That or Silverstein is getting desperate.

I'm just glad they're resuming vertical construction. 3 WTC has looked this way for far too long.

Did you know that there is a 3wtc.com website already?

It is still in the "Coming Soon" fase, but the new logo for the building is very good! Go watch it here.

I almost forgot about that. Now the whole thing about Tower 4 topping out before Fredom Tower seems to make more sense. Also, I think the plot is less complex so it should go smoother. But for now, I think FT may top out first. Tower 3 should look like how Tower 4 looks now in a few months, and I'm sure that Tower 2 will be right behind T3.
This was in 2008, it couldn't be more off, though it's all gonna be coming together soon, can't wait to see this baby rise.

This kind of news is just enough to give us skyscraper fans a steel-superstructure erection of our own.
