The rendering still makes 3WTC look too tall. That height looks like the original height of this tower, unless it is in fact back to the original height.

I don't think so. The parapet starts slightly above the roof of 4WTC in that rendering, which looks about right considering 3WTC's roof is ~30m higher than 4WTC's.

Yea, you're probably right. I was just comparing it to 2wtc. It didn't look like a 200ft difference between pinnacle heights.

To install the actual tower cranes.

A hydraulic crane to assemble a crawler to assemble tower cranes.

Projected completion date is 2018.

Pretty bad time to restart construction now that we're approaching Fall/Winter.

They restarted whenever they could. They got "funding" not too long ago. Also there is multiple projects that is starting right now like 225th street, etcc so not sure why you make big deal about winter/ fall stuff.

Too much negativity in this topic overall. It will get build sooner or later, patience.

No one's making a big deal out of anything, so don't jump to conclusions.

I merely expressed that this upcoming fall/winter weather could have an impact on the overall pace of construction.

I've been following 3 WTC since the beginning, so I what's "up".

probably just to install the concrete tower crane. I dont think the manitowoc has enough juice to set up a 760 from that distance and in that configuration...

the tower crane for concrete will be a http://www.wolffkran.com/index.php/home.html iirc

edit: actually, that manitowoc isnt picking up anything as configured, i see that it has a jib on it. Cant pick up anything heavy with that....sorry folks.

The main boom and the luffing jib both have their own hook, so no issues there. There's also a max lifting capacity of 300 tons.

Besides, there's a hook on both the main boom and jib extension.

first of all. a 888 is a 230 ton crane...but thats irrelevant. cranes can only pick somewhat close to their tipping capacity with a very small amount of main boom, from about 10-15 feet away.

the crane is configured with a fixed jib on a luffing jib.

the fixed jib that is on it allows for 1 part of hoist line. the fixed jib has a max capacity of the line pull on the crane, which is about 29,000lbs.

with around 200' of main boom, 150-170' of luffing, plus a 30' jib, a 999 (larger than this crane) is good for about 20,000.

What's going to install the actual tower cranes then if this won't?
