Good news that the tower will be completed.

Can someone explain the process, though? Where does the 1.8 B number come from, and how did it get approved all of a sudden? The earlier rejected request was for 1.3 B in bonds (earlier post). Nine months later, not only did Silverstein fail to substantially increase the share of private funds towards the building, the public debt component actually grew by almost 50%?

Some climbing forms are now installed along with the climbing platforms.

Finally! So sick of the drama.

With Funding Approved, 3 World Trade Center Will Rise Again

Quote:
The New York Liberty Development Corporation, part of New York state’s economic-development agency, has approved over $1.6 billion in bonds to ensure the construction and development of 3 World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.

“The World Trade Center is a reminder of the resilience and determination that defines us as New Yorkers, and today we are taking another step forward in rebuilding it for the future,” said New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in a press release. “This funding is crucial to keeping the construction and development of 3 World Trade Center on track, and I look forward to seeing the project come to fruition.”

As Commercial Observer previously reported, the high-profile project experienced a significant standstill when its initial financing package was rejected.

This is great news! Now when construction stops, it will be when the tower is completed!

2 WTC is definitely the crown jewel of site, if not the whole city.

Hopefully it doesn't meet the same fate 1 and 3 WTC has meet; redesigns and height reduction.

Three world trade center is SO New York City. I love the design. Classy, timeless and modern. Now that is hard to pull off.

It is a great contrast against the almost mirror-like 4 world trade, and the aqua blue-ness of 4, 2 and 1.

I've been on the edge of my seat about this since December. I feel a great sense of relief now that 3WTC is finally officially guaranteed. Now, we can all sit back and watch it rise into the sky. That being said, rather than resting on our laurels, we should heighten the campaign for 2, 5, and 6 (PAC).

Silverstein has been very adamant about his stance that 2WTC will in no way be changed.

New York has a long history of resilience that's older than 13 years. 9/11 is iconic because it happened in an era of 24 hour news and televisions and the internet. But New York has been under the cosh for centuries.

Not many cities in the US have been occupied by a foreign power. Don't forget that.

Winter was going to come whether or not the building was going up. At least we now have something to help us get through the cold months!
